Private and public-sector employment

Private-sector full-time employment rose by 12,333 people over the year to 253,274. Public-sector full-time employment increased by 2,253 to 56,318.

Administrative and support service activities added 1,833 full-time workers compared with April 2025, while information and communication added 1,534. The NSO identified these as the activities making the largest contributions to the annual rise.

More people also held a second part-time job

The number of registered part-time workers who also held a full-time job was 51,835, up 12.5% from a year earlier. Across all registered part-time employment, transportation and storage, followed by accommodation and food services, contributed most to the annual increase.
